Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for over 20 years. She was best known as Skyler on AMC's Breaking Bad drama, and she was the recipient of the Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Supporting Female Actress in Drama Series 2013 and 2014. She has also played Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in the year 1968. She fell in love performing in Preparatory School after which she moved to Ohio with her family in late 1970s. She attended the British American Drama Academy and studied theatre at Northwestern University. Anna was employed in the theatre in the Chicago area for a few years, before attempting her hand at TV as well as film roles. Anna had her biggest break in 1992 when she appeared as Arden in 29 episodes of Down the Shore. In addition, she appeared in Seinfeld and NYPD Blue. It wasn't until the late 1990s that she took on the role of The Practice. Martha Bullock, a character that she played for a period of two seasons during Deadwood's 2nd season. She also starred in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in 2008. Also, she starred in the Deadwood film as well as Sully. Gunn took the stage in David Schwimmer's Sex With Strangers. She was also a part of the four-part podcast audio drama Numbered days, which was made available in 2022. Breaking Bad often revolves around Walter White and Skyler's relationship. The strains and eventual demise mirror the last few seasons of Walter White.
